My father started his business in 1939 and it ran until 1976. It was called Tony’s Pizza Italian Restaurant. It was the most popular place around Burlington, New Jersey. It’s where Blue Claw is now.

He used to sell six to eight hundred pizza pies a night just as take-out alone. He had the first frozen pie on the market, which is called Tony’s Pizza. It is still out there today.

He taught me at eight how to make butterfly and breaded shrimp, how to make Lasagna, and how to make dough. When I was eight years old, I could make everything in the restaurant.

From then on, it kept going on and on and on. What else can I say?

In 1965, I moved over to the Holiday Lane Bowling Alley and Radnor Restaurant. My father wanted me to run his place but I wanted another place of my own. That was how I started 41 years ago.

From there I moved to Riverside and opened Riverside Liquor, Riverside Deli, Riverside Catering and Santucci’s. I retired for 30 days out of it, and the person who bought the whole place loved the Deli business but did not like the catering end of it. Therefore, I took over. I moved back to Burlington and still stayed with Santucci’s. I’ve been here at this location in Burlington since 1984.

The reason you should buy from Santucci Catering over other companies in the Burlington area is because we have thousands and thousands satisfied customers. The Santucci name has been around for a long time, since 1919, when my grandfather opened up this place in Burlington.

We had a Santucci Grocery Store. (Back then they were called Grocery Stores.) They had a butcher and other things. I used to stay there with him and acquire the techniques when I was small. That’s how I ended up in all of this, and I’m still here, at this location since 1984. Thanks to the excellent food and personal service provided by Ted Santucci and the staff, Santucci’s Catering has been a winner in the Best of Burlington balloting many times.
